The country is celebrating National Doctors’ Day on 1 July, the anniversary of the birth of renowned medical practitioner and former West Bengal Chief Minister Dr. Bidhan Chandra Roy, in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic disaster. By the way, the day is also the anniversary of his death.

Medical professionals have always been heroes of the apron. To many, they are our hopes, so that our close friends or we could be saved and reside for an extended period of time.

During this pandemic, they have worked tirelessly for months now and deserve every inch of support and cooperation from all of us. Let’s take a moment to thank these life-saving heroes for their efforts and services.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on Wednesday, praised the role of doctors in their “spirited” fight against the COVID-19 pandemic, saying that they are saving lives by putting themselves at risk. “India salutes our doctors—extraordinary caregivers who are at the forefront of a spirited battle against COVID-19,” he wrote on Twitter to mark Doctors’ Day.
