IPL 2020 looked impossible with increasing COVID-19 cases in India. While fans and cricket lovers were left disappointed every week passing, the 13^th edition of IPL was perfect set-up before the T20 World Cup. Sports events took massive hit due to pandemic, IPL was no less. Postponed initially, finally something cheerful for all the IPL fans around the world.

England-India series has also been suspended until any decision taken on it. While the series was scheduled in September-October, BCCI is looking to schedule IPL in that period.  Moreover, the IPL venue will likely to held in UAE as per reports, however no official statement has been released by BCCI president Sourav Ganguly.

While speaking on IPL being held overseas, Ganguly told the first priority is to host the event at home, but the organization will schedule IPL 2020 even if it has to be taken overseas. But it is evident that IPL will move offshore venue for sure.

IPL is huge for fans as well as sponsors. BCCI could not only suffer huge loss due to cancelation of the mega sports event, but 13th edition of IPL is crucial for the players as well looking for the fact T20 world cup is around the corner.

Scheduling in September- October window, domestic tournaments like Vijay Hazare, Duleep Trophy, Syed Mushtaq Ali will also come under scanner as BCCI will look extensively if they will be able to hold all events in 2020. Few tweaks are certainly on cards as a lot of cricket tournaments are due in this year.

In addition, everyone is looking forward to see IPL happen. Fans on social media even announced, they are ready to watch IPL at their homes with no crowd allowed inside the stadium. So, hopefully 13^th edition of IPL will be announced soon.
