Indian Army Day 2020 is being celebrated in commemoration of the defense forces ‘ brave soldiers. First observed in 1949 this is the celebration’s 72nd year.
Army Day is observed to mark the Lt Gen K M Carriappa taking over from General Francis Butcher, India’s last British commander-in-chief, as commander-in-chief of the Indian Army in 1949.
