1. SoftBank buys WeWork in $10 billion deal
SoftBank Group has agreed to spend more than $10 billion to take over office -space sharing startup We-Work. The deal represents a stunning reversal of fortunes for WeWork as well as its largest shareholder, SoftBank Group, which has committed more than $13 billion in equity to a company that is now valued at just $8 billion. The move saw Soft-Bank Group stock falling 2.5% on Wednesday.
2 Remove all posts defamatory to Ramdev on global basis: HC
HC’s order came on a plea by Ramdev seeking global restraint order against Facebook, Google, YouTube, and Twitter from carrying content related to a book. The HC had on September 29, 2018, restrained the publisher and author ‘Godman to Tycoon’ on Ramdev, from publishing it till the offending portions were deleted on the yoga guru’s plea. The defamatory video in question contained excerpts of the book that were ordered to be deleted by the HC in September last year.

Fishermen have also been warned not to venture out to sea.
4. Microsoft India revenue hits $1bn
Microsoft’s revenue in India has crossed $1 billion, with robust growth from cloud and cloud-based services in a market where it competes fiercely with Amazon’s AWS and Google. Microsoft’s revenue rose 13% to Rs 7,301 crore in 2018-19, from Rs 6,455 crore in the year before, according to corporate research firm Tofler. Its net profit rose to Rs 386 crore from Rs 357 crore.
5. BSNL, MTNL aging staff to get 30k-cr VRS deal
A generous VRS package — amounting to nearly Rs 30,000 crore — awaits the aging employees of BSNL and MTNL, two of India’s biggest loss-making PSUs, as the government announced steps to revive them and reduce their massive manpower, which had been a big drain on resources. To be offered to those above the age of 50, it promises to prepay nearly 10 years of salary in advance apart from handsome pensionary benefits, bringing home Diwali celebrations early for employees who till just a few days back were holding protests against the government over delays in salary and speculation that the companies may be ordered to shut down in view of continued losses.

10. Microsoft posts 14% rise in its Q1 revenue at $33.1 billion
Microsoft posted a $33.1 billion 14 percent increase in its FY20 Q1 revenue over the same period last year, during which it posted $29.1 billion in revenue. Net income from the software giant increased 21% to $10.7 billion or $1.38 per share.
