The famous e-commerce platform Shopify is giving its employees $1,000 each to buy what they need to work from home amid growing efforts to prevent the spread of coronavirus. Starting March 16, the company has directed its all employees to work from home. There are totally of more than 5000 people in 11 different countries, work in the company. The company has given each of its employees a stipend of $1,000 each to pay for any office equipment and other required instruments they need to set up a workspace for remote work or work from home.
As COVID-19 continues to impact people and countries around the world, Shopify will be going remote first starting March 16th. Working from home will help play a part in reducing the spread of the virus, and hopefully lessen its potentially huge burden on the healthcare system.

Many employees of different companies around the world have been ordered to work from home as COVID-19, the coronavirus disease, continues to spread rapidly. Till now more than 124,000 people have tested positive for the disease, which the World Health Organization (WHO) officially declared a pandemic.
The Canada-based company Shopify, on Wednesday, announced on their official Twitter handle- that its employees would work from homecoming March 16 to “play a part in reducing the spread of the deadly virus.”
Shopify is not alone, there are several other major tech companies that told its employees to work remotely from home or anywhere. Google has also proposed nearly all of its 100,000 employees worldwide to work from home. Spotify, the Sweden-based music streaming platform, has instructed its employees to work remotely for at least two to three weeks. Amazon, Microsoft, Twitter, and Facebook have all told their employees in Silicon Valley and Seattle to do the same.
