Delhi elections over but CAA protest continues

Elections in Delhi are over and the national capital will have the Arvind Kejriwal’s Aam Admi Party (AAP) government for the third consecutive time. The anti-CAA protests that began in December ran through the winters and still going pretty strong, after the elections also.

“We are not afraid of the harsh winters; we have been through the bone-chilling weather out in the open. We are demanding immediate rollback of CAA, which is on the religious grounds and against the soul of the constitution of India,” said Sakina Begun, a mother of a toddler and a protester at Nizamuddin area.

“Women return to their homes for daily routine work and return after making lunch late in the afternoon. The protest will continue till the government rolls back the CAA on religious grounds,” said Ali Mohammad, a local businessman of area Turkman Gate.

“It’s been 28 days since we started the protest to show our support with Shaheen Bagh. We do not want any trouble; all we want is the government to talk,” said Sakina Begun, a protester at Mustafabad.

IRCTC’s Kashi Mahakal Express inaugural run on 16 February

Derived its name from the fact that it will connect the three Jyotirlinga pilgrim centers, the Kashi Mahakal Express is all set to be launched to run between Varanasi and Indore. It will be the first overnight journey by a private train in the country launched by Indian Railways PSU Indian Railways Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC).
The train will connect the three Jyotirlinga pilgrim centers – Varanasi, Ujjain and Omkareshwar – Omkareshwar (near Indore), Mahakaleshwar (Ujjain) and Kashi Vishwanath (Varanasi) in its journey.

The train will commence its regular run from 20 February after the inaugural run on 16 February and will run three days a week. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be flagging off the IRCTC’s Kashi Mahakal Express through video link.
