Amazon Prime to premiere South-Indian films globally

Global corona virus pandemic is giving a scare on the film industry. With theaters closed, films are stacked up to get releases. Lockdown imposed has got many digital platforms interested in order to release various multi-lingual movies. Eyeing on the opportunity, OTT platforms are ready to whack it out of park. One of most popular platforms, Amazon Prime went ahead to gather non-Hindi films to release globally. The platform has roped many south Indian movies including Tamil, Telugu and Kannada etc to premiere globally.

The movies were recently announced on Social Media of Amazon Prime. Soon, it became viral and people were putting it on their watch-list. One of Bollywood’s movie critic, Taran Adarsh was first to notify on his social media handle.

Here are the movies announced to get World Premiere on Amazon Prime –

1) PONMAGAL VANDHAL

A Tamil movie bagged by Prime, Ponmagal Vandhal is legal drama movie. The film will be directed by a debutant J.J Fredrick. Jyothika as lead role, the film is all set to release 29th May 2020 only on Amazon Prime.  

2) PENGUIN

A multi-lingual movie, Penguin is thriller genre movie. Movie stars national award-winning actress Keerthy Suresh and is directed by Eashvar Karthic. Penguin is all set to premiere on June 19th 2020.

3) LAW

A women centric crime thriller movie, Law will have new face as Actress Ragini Chandran debuts. Law is Kannada film that is all set to release on 26^th June 2020.

4) FRENCH BIRYANI

One of two Kannada films to get World Premiere through Amazon Prime, French Biryani has Danish Sait, Sal Yusuf, and Pitobas in leads. French Biryani is set to release July 24^th 2020.

5) SUFIYUM SUJATAYUM

A musical drama film written & directed by Naranipuzha Shanavas. The movie stars Aditi Rao Hydari and Jayasurya in lead pair. Release date of this musical drama movies is yet to be revealed.
