3. Mumbai auto-rickshaw is equipped with washbasin, desktop monitor
An auto driver named Satyawan Gite in Mumbai has equipped his auto-rickshaw with facilities including a wash basin, a desktop monitor, purified drinking water and charging points for mobile phones. Gite, who does not charge senior citizens for rides of up to 1 kilometer, said, “I wanted to provide better passenger services.” He called the’ Mumbai’s First Home System Auto-rickshaw ‘ three-wheeler.

8. Bill to protect rights of transgenders passed in Parliament
The Rajya Sabha passed a bill on the protection of rights of transgenders after a motion to refer it to a Select Committee of the Upper House was defeated. The Lok Sabha had passed the Bill on August 5 this year. The bill was cleared despite the opposition’s efforts to send the bill to the select committee. The government got 74 votes defeating the opposition, which only managed 55 votes.
