8 Most awaited Upcoming Bollywood movies of 2020

2019 has been full of blockbusters movies like “Gully Boy”, “Uri: The Surgical Strike”, “Kabir Singh”, “Super 30”, “Chhichhore”  and “Mission Mangal”. Picking up risky subjects, social issues and movies full of entertainment, 2020 is heading in the right direction for Bollywood. To minimize the loss this year many movies are coming up with a moderate budget.

1. Chhapaak

Based on the story of acid-attack survivor Laxmi Agarwal, Chhapaak is a biopic movie from Meghna Gulzar the director of “Raazi”.  In the movie Deepika Padukone is playing Malti, a character inspired by the character of Laxmi Agarwal and Vikrant Massey is playing as Malti’s partner. Earlier this year, a similarly crafted movie from Malayalam cinema, “Uyare” has been released. A sensitively weaved fictional drama based on a real incident will be theatrically released on 10 January 2020.

2. Rambo

Produced by Sajid Nadiadwala, the upcoming Bollywood movie Rambo starring Tiger Shroff as lead is based on Sylvester Stallone’s Hollywood series about John Rambo, a troubled Vietnam War veteran, and former US Army Special Forces soldier. The movie full of action and adventure was initially said to release in 2018 but has been pushed till 2020. The movie is all set to release in October 2020.

3. Laxmmi Bomb

 Laxmmi Bomb is an upcoming Bollywood movie, featuring Akshay Kumar and Kiara Advani in the lead roles. The film is the Hindi remake of Raghava Lawrence’s Tamil Film “Muni 2: Kanchana”. The Hindi version of the movie is also directed by Raghava Lawrence. Produced by Shabina Khan and Tusshar Kapoor, this comedy horror film is scheduled to be released on 22 May 2020.

The story of India’s incredible cricket World Cup victory in 1983, 83 is an upcoming Indian drama film, starring Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone, Harrdy Sandhu, and Ammy Virk. The 1983 world cup final match is one of the most important cricket matches in Indian Cricket history, and at the time there was no way to telecast the match for many. Capturing such a historical event might satisfy both the cricket and cinema fans to see the ’83 match in a way. In the movie, Ranveer Singh plays as Kapil Dev.

5. Shamshera

Written and directed by Karan Malhotra, Shamshera is an action-adventure upcoming 2020 film, starring Ranbir Kapoor, Sanjay Dutt, and Vaani Kapoor. The film is about a dacoit tribe in which Ranbir Kapoor, will play the lead. The film is all set to hit the theatres on July 31, 2020.

Shot in Russia, London, Ireland, Germany and India, Sardar Udham Singh is an upcoming biographical film based on, a revolutionary freedom fighter Udham Singh. The film is directed by Shoojit Sircar and features Vicky Kaushal in the lead role. The film is all set to release on 2 October 2020.

8. Panga

Directed by Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari and produced by Fox Star Studios, “Panga” is a sports drama-comedy film, featuring Kangana Ranaut, Jassie gill, Richa Chadda , Neena Gupta, and Pankaj Tripathi. Based on the life of a Kabbadi player, the film is set to theatrically release in India on 24 January 2020.   The director Ashwiny Iyer has won the Filmfare Best Director awards for two of her previous works- “Bareilly Ki Barfi” and “The New Classmate”, which certainly raises the expectation for the audience to taste another good cinema from Bollywood.
