Sayyid Athar Hussein Rizvi who also khown as Kaifi Azmi, Indian poet, songwriter and activist 101st birth anniversary today.

He was born on 14 January 1919 in the village of Mizwaan, Azamgarh district, Uttar Pradesh, India.
From composing passionate love poems to Bollywood song lyrics and screenplays, the range of works has made Azmi one of India’s most renowned 20th century poets.
When he was 11years old, he wrote his first ghazal – ‘Itna to zindagi mein kisi ki khalal pade’.
He is also the most awarded urdu poet including Padma Shri, Sahitya Akademi Fellowship, Filmfare Award and many more.
