With the beginning of new decade, people were quite optimistic and welcoming to the year 2020. While a lot of individuals had something or the other to tick, many believed the new year as well as the new decade will bring prosperity, happiness, growth and peace to the world. Little did they know, 2020 will worsen with each passing month for human kind. 6 months down the line, a fording indicator of what’s panned in for the second half of the year. Moreover, first half of 2020 left a series of bad events which has wobbled people around the world.

New Virus, COVID-19 spread-

The start of 2020 became shaky when Corona virus hit Wuhan, china badly causing deaths of many. A rare virus, which the world has no answers to. With no vaccine or antidote, corona virus spread across the world in short span of time. The unfortunate is getting worsen with the course.

Iran takes revenge of US Strike –

US terminated Qassim Suleimani, top commander of Iranian Forces. He was killed in a drove strike authorized by US President Donald Trump at Baghdad International Airport. Soon Iran retaliated and attacked on US Military base with ballistic missiles. Also, Iran Prime Minister warned US and said, the revenge is still not over.

Crash of Ukrainian Plane 752 –

A Ukrainian International flight was hit by two missiles from Iran as they say, mistook it as hostile plane. A total of 176 people dies in the crash where citizens from Canada & Ukraine were the most. The incident happened in Tehran where the passenger flight was taken down by missile crew of Iran.

Turkey Earthquake –

A 6.8 magnitude earthquake which lasted almost 40 seconds, caused damage all over Turkey. Reportedly 36 people lost their lives while more than 1600 people were injured.  Turkey’s Disaster and Emergency Management Authority claimed more than 400 aftershocks were recorded.

Tragic Death of NBA Legend Kobe Bryant –

One of the legends of the game, American basketball player Kobe Bryant died in a horrifying helicopter crash in California. A player who scored 81 pointers in a single game, Kobe was accompanied by his daughter and seven other who were also killed in the accident.

Australia Bushfire –

In nature’s ugly version, Australian forest was on fire for more than 100 days burning nearly 2120 acres of forest land. Destroyed thousands of houses and affecting millions of species. The bushfire 2020 in Australia caught world’s eye with its devastating face.

Riots in Capital of India

Following new citizenship amendment rules, people began protesting against the ruling party. Things got worse as riots sparked in various part of Delhi majorly between Hindu-Muslim. More than 50 people died in the course and destruction of properties, cars and public transport.

Corona Virus Dominates World –

COVID-19 spreads throughout the world infecting millions of people with its havoc. After China, the novel corona virus soon takes charge of the world causing deaths all around the globe.

Country Lockdown –

COVID-19 certainly got better of many researchers and doctors spreading rapidly all over the place. Soon, WHO declared corona virus as global pandemic. To prevent the further spread of the deadly virus, many countries including China, Italy, India, New Zealand, Poland etc went for complete lockdown for a period of time.

Economy Crash –

Due to lockdown in several countries, economy crisis soon began gripping the country. India, Italy, UK, Iran or China went through a dipping economy particularly due to the complete lockdown in order to fight deadly corona virus.

Sporting Events Cancelled including Olympics & NBA

 Since the spread of Corona virus was ruling the world, it was advisable to avoid large gathering. This led to many biggest sporting events either cancelled or postponed until things get easier. Olympic, NBA season, IPL, Wimbledon are some of the biggest sports tournaments which were affected due to COVID-19.

US records massive 100k deaths due to COVID-19

US was among most affected countries from the deadly corona virus. The country saw deaths after deaths claiming more than 100,000 lives of Americans. With no vaccine or antidote yet, the country is certainly failing apart in front of life-threatening Covid-19.

Bollywood fraternity under shock with legends passing

In a span of two days, Bollywood lost couple of big names from the industry. Irrfan Khan and Rishi Kapoor died after suffering from cancer. Also, renounced music composer Wajid Khan died in Mumbai due to corona virus complication eventually causing kidney failure.

Pakistan’s Flight Crash

A Pakistan passenger flight PK8303 crashed into residential neighbourhood in Karachi. Total of 97 people died in the accident while 2 survived. The misshapen occurred with engine failure of PK8303 when the flight was trying to land.

George Flyod Death –

 Minneapolis police officer arrested George flyod on the streets kneeling on his neck. Due to massive force applied on delicate part of our body, neck, George died on the spot after repeatedly ‘I can’t Breathe’. Soon, the video went viral and thousands of people showed their support to flyod’s death protesting in front of white house.

Cyclone Amphan & Nisarga makes landfall

Two deadliest cyclones made landfall in few states of India. While Amphan affected western side of India damaging states like Odisha and Kolkata, Nisarga affected eastern side majorly Gujarat and Mumbai.
