Virtual Wedding: Mumbai Boy & Delhi girl tie the knot via video call on Zoom

Amid nationwide lockdown due to the coronavirus pandemic, a couple got married via video call on Zoom. The couple made the best use of technology and accepted each other as life partners through a video call. Recently, a Mumbai based 29-yo Merchant Navy Officer Preet Singh and a Delhi girl Neet Kaur who had been preparing for their wedding for the last six months didn’t let the coronavirus lockdown to stop them.

The wedding date was initially scheduled for April 4th, 2020. Despite the lockdown, the couple decided to stick to the date and, made this wedding happen through a video call. The groom and bride dressed up properly for the occasion and their family and friends joined in from different states of India and as far as Dubai, Australia, and Canada.

“Since we believe the wedding is incomplete without the blessings of Waheguru Ji, we will head to a gurudwara at the earliest opportunity to conduct the wedding ceremony as per Sikh tradition,” Preet told TOI. The groom further told- “We were heartbroken because we had been planning the wedding for six months. But every cloud has a silver lining and we found ours too.”

The couple had planned their honeymoon to Sri Lanka which might be postponed due to the lockdown.

Also, the same day a Muslim, Mohammad Minhajudd, based in Aurangabad and a Muslim woman based in Beed, got married via video call.

Another Mumbai-based couple got engaged online through Facebook live video, in March.
