Tourist Visas cancelled by Government after WOrld Health Organization declared COVID-19 as ‘Pandemic’

The central government has cancelled tourist visas for a period of 14 days after WHO (World Health Organization) declared COVID-19 as ‘pandemic’. India government has taken a step to ensure the country no longer extend the COVID19 hit patients. Centre has suspended all the visas (Except Diplomats and few other categories) till April 15. In order to prevent the deadly virus to further spread in the country, a bold step has been taken. The total number of patients in India has gone to 60 so far. Visa free travel facility of overseas citizens has also been suspended in order to curb the virus.

As the virus has spread to 100+ countries these precautionary measures are taken by the Government of India so that the virus can be minimized in the country further. Indian government is quite serious on this world issue and want their citizens to be safer as well. Heavy security and medical checks at various flights and airports has been installed so that people visiting from China, Italy and south Korea where the spread of virus is quite heavy, can be checked thoroughly.

The infection continues to grow its reach to the various part of the world, the government has also intrusted the citizens to avoid travelling abroad until its very urgent. The decision came when Health Minister Harsh Vardhan held a meeting where a group of ministers were also present afterward the step to suspend the visas was taken.

As the saying ‘Precaution is better than cure’ the government of India is acting on it simply. Precaution to the COVID-19 can be seen in other countries as well, where NBA has suspended their upcoming season to insure their players on the safe roof. IPL is too on the radar and government might take few steps on the upcoming cricket tournament to safeguard the citizens.
