Shoot at Sight Orders in North-East Delhi as Violence intensifies

Delhi Police issued shoot at sight orders in North East Delhi, after violence over CAA intensified in the area. Previously there was no exact news over the shoot at sight orders, but later on, it was clarified that the orders have been issued.




Mosque Sabotage in Delhi’s Ashok Nagar, Hanuman Flag Placed On Top
A mosque was Sabotage and set ablaze in the Ashok Nagar locality of North East Delhi on 25th February. According to reports, a mass shouting “Jai Shri Ram” and “Hinduon ka Hindustan” marched towards the mosque that was set on a blaze, and a “Hanuman flag” was placed on the top. In fact, offenders also looted shops near the mosque and there were no police officials seen in the locality. According to the local people, police removed Muslim community members from the area earlier.




CBSE Postpones Board Exams due to Delhi Violence
Considering the apprehensive situation, CBSE has postponed class 10th and 12th board exams in the North East Delhi on 25th Feb. Exams in the remaining locality of the NCR would not be affected and will be held as per schedule. The Deputy CM of Delhi Manish Sisodia tweeted that all schools in the northeast district will remain closed on 26th February. In some schools, the internal examination has also been postponed.




BJP MLA Accused Of Chanting ‘Goli Maaro S***o Ko’ In East Delhi
A video of Abhay Verma, BJP MLA from Laxmi Nagar, chanting ‘goli maaro saalo ko’ has been seen on the Internet on 25 Feb. The video that was tweeted by AAP MP Sanjay Singh which hows Abhay Verma chanting aggressive slogans like ‘police ke hatyaaron ko, goli maaro saalo ko’ & ‘jo Hindu hit ki baat karega, wohi is desh mein raj karega’ with his followers in a rally. According to the report by Hindustan Times, a local shopkeeper from the locality told that – “It was around 7 PM when I saw him coming from the Mangal Bazar side and going towards Vikas Marg. They were all sloganeering and some were also carrying sticks. The shop owners got so scared that some, who had reopened their shops in the evening after rumours of riots in Laxmi Nagar in the afternoon, downed their shutters again and fled.”

Amidst the riots that have taken place in Northeast Delhi have emerged instances where local civilians stepped up together and formed a human chain to ensure safe passageway for schoolchildren. The incident took place in Delhi’s Yamuna Vihar, where a group of people formed a human chain to ensure safe passage for schoolchildren. Bodhisattva Sen Roy, the senior editor at The Telegraph shared the video on his Twitter account.
