“SCARS” A powerful poem by Tahira Kashyap on National Cancer Survivors Day

Tahira Kashyap is an Indian Writer, professor, theater director, and wife of well known Bollywood actor,  Ayushmann Khurana.

Yesterday, On National Cancer Survivor Day, Tahira Kashyap penned a powerful poem entitled ‘Scars’ to encourage cancer survivors to proudly show off their scars, which represent ‘an indomitable spirit that can’t be crushed by fear.’

Tahira encourages cancer survivors to proudly show off their scars, she wrote, “Some scars are deep, some within, Some are seen while some are hidden. The thing about scars is, it reminds you of the past, the moments of suffering that you thought would forever last.”

Tahira was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2018 and has undergone a mastectomy. Since then, she has made significant efforts to spread awareness and praise those who have bravely fought the disease.
