A tragic domestic dispute turned deadly in Garland, Texas, when a man shot and killed his wife and mother-in-law inside an apartment where two young children were present. The violence took place at the Arts at Broadway Commons apartments, just off Interstate 30 near Lake Ray Hubbard, around 8 a.m. The situation got out of hand rapidly, and law enforcement officers acted swiftly to secure the children, de-escalate the situation, and take Broderick into custody without further harm.

 Broderick has been charged with capital murder and is currently being held at the Garland Detention Center without bond. The two children, who were unharmed during the ordeal, have been placed with extended family members.

Her mother, Shirley Jean Phillip, was also found with gunshot wounds but was still alive. She was rushed to a nearby hospital, but sadly, she later succumbed to her injuries.
