Famous Child Artist – Then and Now

Child actors often play crucial parts in Indian films. Some of the finest Bollywood actors today started their acting careers as child stars. While many of them continued to woo cinema lovers with their power-packed performances, some of them chose to stay away and follow other paths.


Ahsaas Channa


Ahsaas Channa (born 5 August 1999) is an Indian actress who has appeared in Hindi movies such as Vaastu Shastra, Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna, My Friend Ganesha, Phoonk, etc. as a child actor. She was mostly interested in television shows as a child, including Devon Ke Dev … Mahadev, Oye Jassie, and MTV Fanaah, among others.


Parzan Dastur


Parzaan Dastur is an Indian writer and actor. He is best remembered to many Indians as the cute kid in the commercial for Dhara and the silent Sikh in Kuch Kuch Hota Hai.

Shweta Basu Prasad

With her dual role in Vishal Bhardwaj’s ‘Makdee,’ for which she won the National Award for Best Child Actor, she had made quite a successful start in the film industry. Her acting abilities gave her offers in offbeat and critically acclaimed films, which she also excelled in. She even tried her hand on TV before leaving for the South.
In 2014 Shweta was involved in a high-level prostitution scam but returned to movies and was last seen in early 2017 in ‘Badrinath Ki Dulhania.’


Darsheel Safary

This star, whose talent was exploited by none other than Mr. Perfectionist Aamir Khan, pulled off a great performance as a child suffering from dyslexia in ‘Taare Zameen Par’. Appreciated for his globe-wide role, Darsheel appeared in a few duds following his debut movie, and couldn’t leave a mark.

Sana Saeed


In 1998 she played the bubbly daughter of Shah Rukh Khan and Rani Mukerji in ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai’ and won our hearts. She then took up television offers as a child actor before turning to the big screen as an adult again, starring in the popular 2012 ‘Student Of The Year’ in a supporting role.
The dusky actress was back in the limelight recently, when she was seen in reality shows like ‘Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi’ and ‘Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa’.



Malvika Raaj 

The actress is famous for playing Kareena Kapoor Khan’s younger version in “Kabhie Khushi Kabhie Gham.” The actress prepares for her film “Jayadev” in Telugu.

Jibraan Khan 

The actor is known for portraying SRK’s son in “Kabhie Khushi Kabhie Gham”. He was last seen in 2002’s “Rishtey”.

Aditya Narayan


Son of playback singer Udit Narayan, Aditya began his career as a singer in the movie ‘Rangeela’ and then appeared as a child actor in the ‘Pardes’ of Shah Rukh Khan. He was also seen in a couple of Salman Khan’s movies, a post that when he grew up he went straight to the small screen as an anchor.
His films as an adult have struggled at the box office and the singer is currently mostly engaged in singing assignments in some films, although his recent run with an airline official at Mumbai airport makes us wonder if he ever grew up!


Tanvi Hedge


Tanvi Hegde is well known for her Frooti lead role in the highly popular Son Pari tv show. She’s served in over 150 advertisements.
She has also appeared in several Bollywood films such as Gaja Gamini, Champion, Rahul, Viruddh … Family Comes First, Chal Chalein, Vaah Life Ho Toh Aisi, and Pitaah.
Tanvi Hegde has grown into a beautiful and gorgeous girl.

Imran Khan

When he was young he bared his big screen bum and didn’t even shy away from it! Imran Khan was first seen as a child actor in ‘Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak’ by his uncle Mansoor Khan, where he played the childhood role of Aamir Khan and was again cast as Jr Aamir Khan in ‘Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar.’
Post his stints, he returned to the US to learn the technical side of filmmaking, only to return to Mumbai to be cast as a lead actor in the commercially successful ‘Jaane Tu…Ya Jaane Na’. Most of his subsequent films did not do well and Imran was written off as a one-film wonder by the media. He is now away from the cameras happily playing the family guy!
