May I have your attention please!, will the real slim shady please stand up? Well, our favorite shady, Eminem is back again with his 12th studio album, “The Death Of Slim Shady” today. The album is out today on the 12th of July, 2024 and the Spotify numbers are going up each minute. The album has 19 amazing tracks and also holds 2 previously released singles “Houdini” and “Tobey” featuring Big Sean and Baby Ton with a sequel to 1999’s “Guilty Conscience” with Dr. Dre.
Enemin explained the album on the 11th of July, 2024 stating that this album is conceptual. It may not make sense if heard out of order. Each song will be better understood if listeners follow the order and don’t click on shuffle.
“Public service announcement: the ‘death of Slim Shady’ is a conceptual album, therefore, if you listen to songs out of order they might not make sense,” he tweeted. “Enjoy.”
The rapper looks forward to his 10th consecutive album to land first place on Billboard Top 200. His previously released singles “Houdini” and “Tobey” from the album have made it to the Billboard Top 100 before. Houdini was No. 2 for Em’s highest charting hit of the decade, while “Tobey” cracked the chart at No. 95. it is his first project since 2020 after Music to Be Murdered By.
His close friend, Dr. Dre was the one to give us a spoiler about this album. Back in March, on Jimmy Kimmel Live, he talked about the album. He stated he asked Eminem if he could announce the album on the show.
“Let me tell you something, let me explain something to you right now: Eminem is working on his own album which is coming out this year,” Dre said. “And I actually talked to him and he said it was OK for me to make that announcement right here on this show. So he has an album coming out, I’ve got songs on it and it’s fire. I’m actually gonna hear the entire album for the first time for tomorrow.”
The video announcing the album has a true crime story where they talk about who killed Slim Shady. “Through his complex and oft-criticized, tongue-twisting rhymes, the antihero known as Slim Shady has had no shortage of enemies,” he says in the video. Fellow rapper 50 Cent also appears in the video, saying: “He’s not a friend, he’s a psychopath.”
A reporter then says, “The same rude lyrics and controversial antics may have ultimately led to his demise. Join me as we re-create the events that led to the murder of Slim Shady.” “I knew it was only a matter of time for Slim,” Eminem then says.
Fans also had a variety of opinions on the album. Some people believed that the name of the album was suggesting the end of the rap career of Eminem. Meanwhile, some fans excitedly said that the GOAT making a comeback. However, everyone is super excited about today’s release and thinks the album is too good to be true.
