We all grew up watching popular shows from Disney and Cartoon Network. All the popular characters from these channels had a dark theory behind them. In this blog, you can read about what gave the characters their unique characteristics.
1. Candace From Phineas And Ferb
Candace Flynn, the popular frustrated elder sister from Phineas and Ferb is a character who is always trying to make her mom catch her brother’s crazy inventions. However, she is always seen as being unsuccessful. Her mother was never able to find out what her brothers did.
Some theories suggest that it was because both of her brothers died. Candace wasn’t able to accept their death and started seeing them. She believed that both of her brothers were still alive. According to her, they were still creating a fuss in the backyard. But it wasn’t the truth. It was nothing more than Candace’s grief and loneliness.
Her mother never tried to talk it out of her. She understood that her daughter was suffering a lot after her siblings’ death. She let her believe that they were alive as she thought if it brought her grieving daughter comfort then let it be.
2. Ariel From Little Mermaid
Ariel is the favorite Disney princess of every beach person. She has a vibrant and bubbly personality. She also sings like a pro, but our flawless princess also has some dark observations about her. In the movie, the princess is seen swimming between a big pile of stuff.
She also adds another item to the file and adamantly refuses to throw away anything when asked. She was also seen cherishing a fork and using it to comb her hair. Even though she was provided with a whole vanity, she was reluctant to let the fork go.
This behavior pattern suggested that the Little Mermaid was a hoarder and had a possible problem with OCD. She loved collecting unnecessary stuff, and it was too hard for her to clear up her overflowing stuff. However, we can also say that our princess was also an extremist and a maximalist.
3. The Adventures Of Billy And Mandy
This show lives rent-free in every 90s kid’s mind. The show featured a grim reaper. He was obliged to work under Mandy. Grim Reaper tried his best to scare the two kids but was unsuccessful and was trapped by the kids under a contract to be their slave.
The kids made him do every sort of work for them, from household chores like sweeping and cleaning to their homework. The show was banned after a while for some gruesome animation. It generally included showcasing internal organs and skits like eyes popping out of the eye sockets.
The dark theory behind this story suggests that Mandy was the Devil in the show. The cute girl had a scary and dominant character, and the reaper was never able to refuse her. She was the one who made him sign the slavery contract.
4. Prince Florian From Snow White
In the beautiful tale of snow white, her stepmother fed her with a poisoned apple, and she died. She is saved by the kiss of the prince and is brought to life. In this story, people forget to notice the questionable age gap between the couple.
Princess Snow White was believed to be only 14, and Prince Florian’s age was 31. The 18-year age gap between the two received raised eyebrows. Due to this, a dark theory of Florian being a pedophile emerged.
Another theory suggests that the story didn’t have a happy ending. Snow white dies and the prince is believed to be an angel and takes snow white into the afterlife. It is because the 7 dwarfs didn’t follow her and just watched her go with tears in their eyes.
5. Courage From “The Courage Of The Cowardly Dog”
This children’s show terrified every child from the 90s. In this show a pink dog named Courage is seen living with its owners, an elderly couple, Muriel and Eustace. Several alien-like creatures pay this couple a visit, and Courage desperately tries to save them.
People believe that the whole story is inspired by a real couple who lived in the nowhere land of Mexico along with their dog. The couple suddenly disappeared out of the blue, leaving their dog behind. It is said that the couple was kidnapped by the aliens.
The scenery is very identical to what is shown in the show. People who visit that place also said that they have seen glimpses of a dog that they were never able to pet or interact with.
6. Alice From Alice In Wonderland
The mesmerizing story of Alice In Wonderland is popular among children. The movie showcases a great example of creative imagination. Alice falls down a rabbit hole and lands in a fantasy world that is full of weird, wonderful people and animals. It is inspired by a classic children’s book that is also popular with adults.
A dark theory suggests that Alice is representing a mental condition called schizophrenia, which leads her to see and feel every impossible thing. They believe it is nothing but a gentle representation of what schizophrenia feels like and how easily it can drift people away from reality.
7. Coop From Kid Vs Kat
It was a popular show on Disney XD. The show portrayed a family living together. Coop was the elder son and had a little sister named Millie. Millie owned a sphynx cat. She calls her cat Mister Kat. The cat is showcased as an alien who is trying to take the earth by connecting and making plans to take over the earth.
Coop is seen trying his very best to stop Mister Kat through different means. Those means include electrifying the cat, strangling it, and many more. A dark theory suggests that Coop made the whole story of Mister Kat being an alien, and he is nothing but a sociopath who likes to torture animals.
