Coronavirus Update: Assam’s first COVID-19 patient a 52-year person

A 52-year-old man from Karimganj tested positive for COVID-19, reports the first case in Assam. According to reports, his second COVID-19 test also turned out to be positive, which was conducted at NIV Pune. At present, he is under treatment at Silchar Medical College. The State health and family welfare minister Himanta Biswa Sarma shared on twitter: “A 52-year-old person has been found positive for #Coronavirua and is Assam’s first #Covid19 patient. He is undergoing treatment at Silchar Medical College. His condition is stable.”



The biggest rise in a single day in Maharashtra, as total COVID-19 cases jump to 302

72 new coronavirus cases were detected in Maharashtra today itself. Out of which 59 cases in Mumbai alone, taking the total number of COVID-19 patients to 302 in Maharashtra. According to the state official; it is the largest increase in the number of cases within a day probably in the whole country. Besides Mumbai, Ahmednagar reported a total of three cases, while two cases each came from Thane, Pune, Vasai, and Virar.

78 from Karnataka Quarantined in association with Nizamuddin Event

The Karnataka government on Tuesday stated that at least 78 people from the state either attended or came in contact with those who attended the religious congregation, hosted by the Tablighi Jamaat, in the Nizamuddin, Delhi in March. On 30th March, six people from Telangana and one person from Kashmir, who had participated in the event, were pronounced dead from COVID-19.
More than 1800 delegates, including people from Indonesia, had attended the congregation in Nizamuddin West from 8-15 March. Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has ordered an FIR to be filed against the religious leader who was leading the flock.
