6 Times Nepotism won the Best Debut Award

Ananya Panday received the best female debut award for ‘Student Of The Year 2’ in 2020. It does not like for the first time a non-deserving actor received an award. The sudden death of the young and talented Sushant Singh Rajput had started a new wave of debates about nepotism in Bollywood over different social media platforms. It is very important to understand how nepotism affects the ‘outsiders’, how it suppresses talent, and what can be done to stop it from happening.

Receiving the best female debut award by Ananya Panday is the latest example of nepotism but not the first. In this article we will see where 6 Times Nepotism won the Best Debut Award:

1. Saif Ali Khan

Well, Saif Ali Khan is one of the finest actors of Bollywood at present, but once he himself accepted that he was a terrible actor at that time.  He won the Filmfare Award for Best Male Debut in 1994 for the film Aashik Awar, but there were more powerful performances that year.

4. Esha Deol

The daughter of very famous actor Dharmendra and Hema Malini, Esha made her debut in Koi Mere Dil Se Poochhe (2002), which earned her the Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut. The movie was a disaster, still, nepotism won!

5. Sooraj Pancholi

According to some critics and people, this is the biggest case of nepotism win. Sooraj Pancholi debuted in the romantic action film Hero for which he won a Filmfare award. He is the son of an Indian film actor, producer, and playback singer Aditya Pancholi. Same year Vicky Kaushal’s Masaan was also released. Filmfare Award for Best Male Debut for Hero and not for Masaan, this is Nepotism!

6. Sara Ali Khan

Daughter of Saif Ali Khan and the paternal granddaughter of Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi and Sharmila Tagore, Sara Ali Khan made her debut in 2018 with the movie Kedarnath. Kedarnath was a nice movie and her acting was also not that bad, but if you have seen the film Patakhha, then the real winner was Radhika Madan.
